Reviews

This book offers a number of new insights into the backpacking phenomenon. The volume is definitely well worth reading as both background literature and as a research reference for researchers. Gunter Spreitzhofer, University of Vienna, in Annals of Tourism Research 35 (3)This fascinating and thoughtfully-edited collection of new research illustrates the changing dynamics of backpacker tourism. It makes a solid contribution to our understanding of backpacker tourism, but also raises important questions within ongoing larger debates about power, human societies and change.Dr Mark Hampton, Senior Lecturer in Tourism Management, University of Kent.
