Reviews

Aug 05 This book is a great introduction to manipulating your paper with threads and punches, and includes some excellent tips. Popular Crafts Issue 149, Sep 05 Stitching on paper is very popular in Holland with cards and punchtools developed especially for the technique...Every design has a pattern that is traced, placed on the card and all the holes are punched, so they can be filled with stem or straight stitches. There is no counting, no fabric and no shade numbers as you choose whatever you have to hand. Basics of Embroidery on Paper is filled with useful and versatile motifs both traditional and modern. There are delicate flowers, some with beads, added, others coloured with paint or pastels before sewing. There are exotic flowing lines in gold Stem stitch which have a rich elegant look about them worked on dark card. Pictorial motifs are possible too and there are plenty of these with whole chapters on Christmas and flowers, with something for every occasion that make quick, yet unusual cards. NEW STITCHES Jun 06 Learning to embroider on paper will result in unique cards that you'll find difficult to give away! Basics of Embroidery on Paper guides you through the techniques so you can start creating your own designs. There's plenty of inspiration to get you going, from modern abstract designs to pretty flowers in bloom, and the book has just about every occasion in the calendar covered. Erica's tips and informative step-by-step guides make it possible for even new stitchers to create cards which are guaranteed to impress! Papercraft Inspirations Oct/Nov 06 Packed with cards for births, weddings, anniversaries, seasonal cards and great designs suitable for any occasion you can think of, you'll never be short of ideas. Stitch Newsletter 63, Summer 06 Many beautiful designs. Easy to follow instructions. The punch pens must be very accurate making the holes. Pity there is no address or email to get the tools and materials. Thoroughly enjoyed reading and making several of the designs. Not impossible to make a stencil for working designs onto material. Have purchased a copy for my own future use. West Country Embroiderers
