About the Author

James B. Beard is the world's leading authority on turfgrass research and education. He is President and Chief Scientist of the International Sports Turf Institute and Professor Emeritus of Turfgrass Science, Texas A&M University. Dr. Beard has published six books on turfgrass and serves as technical advisor to turfgrass organizations throughout the world.
