Josephine Slade is an artist, reader, writer and budding entomologist who lives most of the year in the urban center of Seattle and spends summers on rural Vashon Island. She finds lots of great bugs in both places. This is her first book, with hopefully many more to come. Bonnie Hovel is Josephine's grandmother. She is a social worker, artist and admirer of the many types of plants and animals in both the Pacific Northwest and the British Virgin Islands where she divides her time. She had lots of fun working with Josie to write this book.
