About the Author

Loree Griffin Burns, PhD, did her doctoral studies at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and lives in Massachusetts with her husband and three children. Ellen Harasimowicz's photography has appeared in the Washington Post, Scientific American, Down East, In Touch Weekly, and Audubon Adventures. She lives in central Massachusetts.
