About the Author

John M. Hawron was born in 1985 in Hong Kong to missionary parents. After living abroad through the age of eight, his family returned to the United States where he attended college, earning his Associate's Degree. He joined the United States Army in 2005 and became a naturalized citizen just in time to deploy to Iraq in support of the Global War on Terrorism. He earned his combat action badge during his year of combat logistical patrols across the country of Iraq and was recognized as the III Corps 2006 Soldier of the Year. After returning from combat and receiving an honorable discharge, he earned his Master's Degree from Texas A & M University in 2011. He is currently pursuing a career in Army Aviation as a Warrant Officer.
