About the Author

As a child in the London blitz, Charles Beagley distracted himself from the horror of his family's situation by making up stories or drawing. His eventual training was at Art School, which equipped him for the many years he spent working in advertising and design. He lived in London initially, did two years National Services in the RAF, worked in Ireland and Belgium and then set up and successfuly ran a Design Consultancy back in England for twenty years. He married and had two sons whose futures concerned him, as things were grim economically in 1982 England. He jumped at the opportunity to move his family to Australia when he was offered a managerial position in design. During his years in England, his writing developed as he wrote promotional text and an occasional short story. Since coming to Australia he has honed his skills, writing over twenty fictional stories, mainly mysteries. To date six of his books have been published with more to come. The Blue Pen is one such novel and it has woven into its fabric, events of his own life and childhood. Michelle Hessing has had a successful and colourful 25 year career working in graphic design, publishing, printing and marketing. Michelle worked for Australian Geographic in Sydney managing visually rich Australian travel books, maps and calendars before going on to open Accentia Design in 2004. Michelle's passion is firmly grounded in books and publishing with a focus on assisting independent authors along the path to publishing and achieving their dream of turning their written words into eye-catching printed books and/or ePubs.

Reviews

A story of young love, adventure through wars and a journey to Australia for more fun. This Blue Pen really gets around! and it gets up to all sorts of magical adventures. I read it to the kids at night before they go to bed and they loved it. It was handy it was broken into 6 stories so they had something to look forward to every night when I was reading to them. Good clean adventure for the littlies. A lovely story that my daughter thought was fun to read, especially when the bower bird stole the pen. Good to see some Aussie content in these pages too. A clever story line that my son thought was cool I liked the part where the soldiers were in the war and hiding and the tanks part and the pen saved the mans life I wish I had a magic pen like this one so I could go all over the world and be famous
