Frank Perrone is a master woodworker with over thirty years of experience. He is currently the director of Facilities and Capital Projects at Wave Hill, a public garden and cultural center, located in the Riverdale section of Bronx, New York. He has worked at Wave Hill for the past three years and in that time has been running weekend workshops teaching novice builders how to make chairs, tables, harvest baskets and bird houses. His main inspiration has been the Gerrit Reitveld design of the Red and Blue Chair, which he has expanded into a set of furniture using the same construction techniques.
For a beginning woodworker, nothing is better than some basic
projects with good instruction. Perrone, an instructor and
woodworker, offers 12 simple projects for the garden, ranging from
fencing and birdfeeders to a potting table and compost bins.
Perrone's guidance is very clear, with step-by-step illustrations.
