Joan B Harris is a retired 6th grade teacher and has been directing community theatre and young people's theatre for forty years. She stopped counting the number of plays after she had directed 60. After winning a short story contest with a portion of "Can the Snakes Go Home Now?" for the Golden Isles magazine, she knew that the story needed to be published in its entirety. Joan loves working with her kids of all ages in the Island Players Theater on St. Simons Island, Georgia, and she says she actually gets as much fun out of it as they do. About the Illustrator: Alyssa Forbes is a freelance illustrator and character designer. A winner of two Scholastic Art Awards, she discovered her love of drawing at the young age of 9; and at 16, she is excited about her first published work. Currently a homeschooled senior on St. Simons Island, Georgia, Alyssa is dual enrolled at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
