He has trained with Peruvian shamans and through Dr. Alberto Villoldo's Healing the Light Body School, where he has been on staff. He has worked with shamans in South America, the United States, Canada, Australia, Ethiopia, and Outer Mongolia. Carl Greer is involved in various businesses and philanthropies, teaches at the Jung Institute in Chicago, is on the staff of the Lorene Replogle Counseling Center, and holds workshops on shamanic topics.
Carl Greer has written a wonderful and compassionate guide for seekers of psychological and spiritual growth. He introduces the reader to basic shamanic and Jungian concepts to link timeless ritual methods with modern active imaginal techniques. His clear explanations provide perspective, and his suggested exercises support personal exploration. * Sylvia Brinton Perera, LP, Jungian Psychoanalyst, author of Descent to the Goddess * Change Your Story, Change Your Life takes the reader through several shamanic techniques including journeying, fire ceremonies and creating a despacho as well as techniques taken from Jungian tradition, or from a blend of Jungian and shamanic, such as sand painting, working with dreams and dialoguing. Throughout the book the author describes his own experiences and the conclusions he drew, also giving useful examples from his clients. In chapter three methods are explained to explore and work with your current story through writing exercises, moving on to writing your new story in chapter four. The final chapters give guidance on how to apply techniques to ensure you continue to take charge of your story and on how to participate in writing new stories for society. * June Woods, Indie Shaman * An engrossing study of shamanism and how it relates to psychology and everyday life.
