About the Author

AN YONG (1970- ) is the author of two short story collections. He is a winner of the Liaoning Literature Prize for Short Stories and a winner of the Yellow River Literature's Biennial Prize. FU YUEHUI (1984- ) is editor of the Shanghai Literature magazine. His major works include three story collections - The Zoo, The Fish King, The Lost Genealogy - and the novel Inscribing the Boat. He was awarded the New Talent Award for Short Fiction of Shanghai Literature in 2009 and was nominated for the Chinese Literature Media Award for New Writers in 2012. His short story Giant Elephants was nominated for the Yu Dafu Literature Award for Short Fiction in 2012. JIANG YITAN (1969- ) is a novelist, poet and publisher. His major works are included in three collections: The Statue of Clint Eastwood, Lu Xun's Mustache and Hepburn, and Oh Hepburn. In 2011 he won two prizes at the Southern Festival of Reading. LI YINHE (1952- ), a research fellow of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, is a PhD supervisor in sociology and an amateur writer. She is known for her pioneering sociological research in sex and gender. SUN PIN (1983- ), author, magazine editor. She has published over a million words. Her works include novellas such as "In the Same House," "Drunken in Chang'an," "Glass Lips," "Woman Invisible," "Wading in the Waves," "The Bodhi Trap," and "Pencil Debt." Some of her works are republished in Fiction Monthly and other selected fiction magazines. ZHAO KA (1971- ) is the new name of Zhao Xianfeng. He has been a farmer, English teacher, reporter, corporate executive, and entrepreneur. He began writing poems and familiar essays in 1989 and later gradually turned to fiction writing and literary criticism. He has been involved in the publication of Persistence, an independent journal. His works are found in various overseas publications and annual selections. He is a recipient of the Grassland Booker Prize. He has published a poetry collection entitled World-Wearies Say. He is one of the Three Masters of the Grassland, the other two being poet Guang Zi and novelist Tuo Lei. He now resides in Hohhot.
