Reading this book, I could picture Captain Woody with his
ever-present grin, as he would handle whatever was thrown at him.
LOW KEY is not just the name of his boat, it is his lifestyle.
Anyone thinking of going cruising should read this. It shows that
anything is possible with the right attitude!
*Latitudes & Attitudes*
Meet the people on board with Woody; and those ashore, and some of
the 'hotties' in many of those faraway places. Life was an absolute
blast for the casual Californian. Of course there were problems,
and the odd crisis; but nothing that the enterprising skipper could
not deal with. And when the going got really tough, there was
always a 'coldie' near at hand for a bit of relaxation. In fact,
almost the entire voyage is better measured in the number of
'coldies' consumed rather than nautical miles covered. It all
amounts to a very happy circumnavigation. Thank you, Woody for a
very readable tale, delightfully told.
*Sailing*
This book offers Captain Woody's account of traveling the world on
his 33' sloop Low Key. Initially his boat was not set up for ocean
travel: he nearly lost it in Mexico but survived to travel the
world. His lively adventures make for an outstanding survey highly
recommended for any sailor who dreams of world travel on a
budget.
