Antonio Bayes de Luna has been Associate Professor of the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, and Chief of Electrocardiography and Arrhythmic Unit in Hospital de Sant Pau. From 1992 to 1998 he chaired the Department of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Hospital de Sant Pau, was a full Professor of Cardiology in the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, and the Director of the Institut Catala Cardiologia-Hospital Sant Pau. Dr Bayes de Luna has been extremely active in the activities of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), most notably as a member of the ESC's Executive Scientific Committee. He has served as President of the XIV European Congress of Cardiology, the XIIth International Congress on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy, and was President of the World Heart Federation. Dr Bayes de Luna has served on the editorial boards of many of the most highly-regarded journals in cardiovascular medicine. He authored 5 books in English or Spanish, and previous editions of this book, Clinical Electrocardiography, have been translated into French, Russian, Polish and Turkish. He has edited 15 other books and has published more than 200 chapters in other books or monographs.
"This is a unique book because, rather than emphasizing memorization of ECG patterns, it focuses on the cellular, anatomical, and physiological parameters of conduction to facilitate an understanding of electrocardiography." ( Doody's , 30 November 2012)
