Daphne Stammer is an artist, retired public school teacher, docent, traveler, equestrian, and cat rescuer. She has been pursuing her creative passion through the love of all animals and nature. Daphne's artwork is shown throughout Northern California and has received numerous awards. She is represented by several galleries in the Sacramento area where she lives. Daphne especially loves and has a special connection with horses and cats.
Clyde's story is true, he "adopted" Daphne almost 30 years ago when Daphne was teaching high school art in Sacramento. She already had three cat companions when Clyde began watching Daphne through windows, meeting her in the yard, and meowing to her as often as he could. She couldn't help but think of her high school art students who were feeling insecure about leaving high school. Clyde's tenacity to become part of Daphne's family inspired the talented artist to share his story with her students in the hopes of showing them that if you want something badly enough, you will find a way to make it happen.
What a wonderful story... many cat lovers can relate as most of us with cats have taken a cat in that needed love, shelter, and care. Tania Dixon mother of Andrew My girls loved it! They said the cat was too cute. Shannon Green mother of Jenny, Taylor, and JohnWhen I read it, I cried. It is a sweet story full of Daphne's beautiful art. Carol, art gallery curator
