In Memorial Day, Flynn's protagonist, Mitch Rapp, learns of a plot to detonate a nuclear bomb at the dedication of the World War II monument in the nation's capital. Mitch is trying to adjust to life as a consultant and husband, but bureaucracy does not come naturally to him, and with time running out, he employs the skills he acquired during his years as a counterterrorism field agent.
