Susie Johns is an experienced crafter, specialising in papercrafts and embroidery. She contributes regularly to a number of craft magazines and is the author of a range of books on practical subjects, such as collage, painting, drawing, papier-mâché, crochet and embroidery. She also teaches craft workshops.
October 2014 Doesn't the front of this book just want to make you
smile! Susie brings you a selection of pillows that can suit every
type of situation. The array of designs and colours are amazing. I
loved this little cushion so much that I couldn't help making one.
It's the perfect size for my spinning chair! I love it! It was so
easy to make. The patterns are in written format and are really
easy to follow. It was such a quick pattern to whip up and as the
stitches are so well made you don't even have to make a lining. At
the start of the book you have step by step instruction on making
cushion pads, how to seam and add fastenings. I choose not to add
these to this pillow as it was so small but when I make some more
of the larger pillows I will. To find out more of what Crochet
Addict is going to do read the rest of the blog here:

and skill level. The cushionmaking section includes clear
step-by-step photography, but this book does assume you already
know the basics of crochet. A cosy collection of contemporary
designs that make great gifts too.

December 2014 Johns is a greatly experienced crafter and crafts
author, and her expertise shines throughout her guide to making 26
different pillow designs. An assumption stands behind her projects,
that the reader already knows the basics of crochet. Armed with
those basics, readers can launch themselves into a wonder-world of
crocheting pillow covers, “easy to make” being the author’s primary
consideration. Color, texture, shape, and size vary widely, and “a
pillow to suit every type of situation” is the book’s goal,
because, as shown here, every room in the house can benefit from a
pillow. The projects themselves, beautifully illustrated, are
introduced by an ample discussion of materials and techniques. For
more comprehensive crafts collections.
