Reviews

There are thirty mini stockings to cross stitch and make up in this booklet, and you can see all of them on the front and back covers.  Use them as tree decorations, fill them with candy or wee gifts, decorate presents with them or give them as gifts in their own right.  Subjects include festive patterns, humor, animals, a church, Santas, wreaths, sayings and more.  My own favorite has to be the pair of beautiful cardinals on a branch. If you haven’t done any cross stitch before full instructions on how to do it plus backstitch and attaching beads can be found at the front, together with how to make up the stockings.  Charts are two to a page in black and white symbols, codes given for DMC, Anchor and Coats floss.  It also says what fabric to use and the braid used to trim the stocking in the photograph.  The charts are quite detailed so you need a good pair of eyes to see all the symbols, but I have seen smaller and the size is fairly standard.  Originally published back in 1989 there is even a stocking with this date on, but a chart of numbers so you can add your own date.  The sort of booklet even a novice stitcher is going to have a lot of fun with.
