Mary Ryan lives and works in Washington Crossing Historic Park. She has volunteered in the historic park for decades. She hand sews 18th century garb for interpretation and special events. Some of her expertise includes textiles such as washing sheep shorn wool and circa 1776 women's life. But, one of her favorite jobs includes teaching students to write with quill pens. As part of her presentation, she included the Culper Code which proved immensely popular with students. That prompted her to research the spies of the Revolutionary War and author and illustrate Culpers, Codes and Quakers; Female Spies of the Revolutionary War.
