Reviews

"A spectacular contribution to the field! Filled with wonderful imagery and clear examples, it is a "must read" for dance teachers everywhere and a highly accessible text for students." --Jane Baas, Associate Dean, Department of Dance, Western Michigan University "Ideally suited for college-aged dancers, but an invaluable resource for older dancers and dance teachers as well. The practical and experiential activities alone make this book an invaluable part of any dancer or dance teacher's library." --Margaret Wilson, Associate Professor, Theater and Dance, University of Wyoming "Written for dancers by a dance physical therapist and teacher who trained as a dancer. Readers will find the skills it teaches and the advice it offers relevant, helpful, and easy to use." --Tom Welsh, Dance faculty, Florida State University "Dance Science: Anatomy: Movement Analysis, Conditioning is a brilliant, logically presented dancer's self improvement manual. For the dedicated dancer or determined advanced student there is real gold to be mined in these pages." --Nancy Lorraine, Midwest Book Review "Grossman's book presents facts and information, but also shows considerable sensitivity to themes of 'ownership, ' 'mindfulness, ' and 'empowerment.' It has engaging evidenced-based narrative, clearly written experiential activities, and challenging problem-solving exercises. This is the kind of book I can see on everyone's shelf." --Gigi Berardi, Journal of Dance Medicine and Science "Dance Science is interesting, pragmatic, and reflective of current knowledge within the fields of dance anatomy and kinesiology. Teachers and students will find it a useful guide with practical approaches." --Denise Puirvis, MFA, Journal of Dance Education "Dance Science: Anatomy: Movement Analysis, Conditioning is a brilliant, logically presented dancer's self improvement manual.
