If you are becoming increasingly suspicious of the idea that history is characterized by progressive stages and that leftists and capitalist innovators are the agents of progress, then I would strongly recommend this book as an excellent defence of the idea that history is cyclical. Dr. Kerry Bolton indeed shows that the very idea of progress is a symptom of the breakdown of traditions, sexual decadence, and cosmopolitan rootlessness that pervades the multicultural West. Bolton leaves the reader with an optimistic view of Russia reaffirming its heritage, encouraging child rearing, and the co-existence of different civilizational blocs against the fake universal values of the United States and the European Union. -- Dr. Ricardo Duchesne, Professor, Department of Social Science, University of New Brunswick.
