Carl Plasa is Lecturer in English at the University of Wales
College of Cardiff. He has published articles on nineteenth-and
twentieth-century literature and is presently working on a study of
inscriptions of colonialism in Austen, Charlotte Brontë and
Rhys.,
Betty J. Ring is currently completing a doctoral thesis at Birkbeck
College, University of London, on post-war consciousness in the
work of William Golding.
