About the Author

Cate Campbell Beatty is married and the mother of two. She is an attorney and lives in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Cate graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics. She received her juris doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she was on the Dean's Honor List. The book is reflective of the intricate nature of her beliefs and draws on her unique experiences and position. She sought to use the tale of "Donor 23" and the totalitarian, dystopian society not just to entertain, but to address timely issues that impact us as individuals in this world-themes of right and wrong, redemption, societal devaluation of the individual and negation of the singular aspect of a person-along with plenty of action and a little romance!
