About the Author

Susan Nicholas, MD., is the founder of the Human Consciousness Consortium. She is the author of The Duality of Being and a series of illustrated, conscious children's books. She is a Reiki energy healer, conscious life coach, and public speaker on topics of consciousness for SusanNicholas.org. Dr. Nicholas is a former clinical fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford University and General Surgery resident and research fellow at UCSF Medical Center. Susan is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine (2001) and earned an Executive MBA from Emory University Goizueta Business School (2009). After graduating from business school, Dr. Nicholas founded a healthcare company and worked as a healthcare equity investment analyst. Susan began her career as a pharmacokinetics chemist at Mylan Pharmaceuticals. She is a French language and culture enthusiast, enjoys organic baking, running, swimming, and playing the violin. Susan lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her son. A Developmental Editor, publishing consultant, and book packager Stephanie Gunning is a veteran of the mainstream publishing industry, specializing in books on the topics of health, spirituality, personal growth, and new thought. Her creative endeavors are dedicated to individual empowerment and the conscious evolution of humankind. Her clients include publishing firms, literary agencies, small presses, and entrepreneurs. Formerly a senior editor at Bantam Doubleday Dell and an associate editor at HarperCollins Publishers, she has worked on books by numerous New York Times and national bestselling authors. She has edited hundreds of books and is an excellent coach for authors who are serious about doing meaningful work. I'm a designer/art director with a passionate interest in the art and significance of the book cover. In exploring different modes of visual language, I always strive to shepherd the final product to a state of sophistication, dynamism, and succinctness. Additionally, I deliver all of the qualities to be expected of a professional designer: - exceptional design/typographic skills and visual sensibility - the ability to quickly grasp concepts - highly-adept at incorporating feedback and modifying designs accordingly - excellent written and verbal communication skills - a passion and appreciation for the written word
