About the Author

Paolo Fusero was born in Genoa in 1960. He graduated in Architecture at the University of Genoa in 1986 and began his professional career in urban planning with Bruno Gabrielli. His most significant contributions are the Master Plans of Piacenza, Pisa, Paterno and Parma, as well as the Ragusa Provincial Plan. He is also an urban planning consultant: from 1996 to 1998 he was City Manager for the Municipality of Parma, where he was senior director of the municipality's Technical Services Department. He was a visiting scholar at the Tonji University, Shanghai (1991) and PHD student at the University of Waterloo, Toronto (1994). He has been lecturing in Urban Studies at the Faculty of Architecture, "G. d'Annunzio" University, Chieti-Pescara since 1999. At present he is associate professor and he coordinates the deanship office of the faculty.
