About the Author

Robert Schwab was born and raised in Virginia and received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia. During his career in academic medicine, he developed a special interest in the role that story plays in illness and healing, and how the study of humanities can improve medical education. He continues to write and speak on these topics, and now teaches an undergraduate seminar on the healing power of stories at the University of Texas at Dallas. His publication credits include The Sun, The Healing Muse, The Lyric, Futures Magazine, and American Poetry Annual. Eddie's Boy is his third novel, and, prior to its publication, was a semifinalist in the 2018 William Faulkner William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition (novel-in-progress category) sponsored by the Pirate's Alley Faulkner Society. Robert currently lives in Dallas, Texas.

Reviews

"A poignant story of redemption that addresses the depth of love and what it takes to make amends. A sweet and hopeful novel that is beautifully written." -Lynne Hinton The Beekeeper's Wife
"One fateful moment changes Dr. Landon Ratliff's life in numerous ways; robbing him of his professional identity and work ethic, and exposing his emotionally guarded personal life. Forced to confront his fears, he slowly begins to heal not just his body, but the relationships with his family he never thought possible. A compelling and heartwarming read about the connections between family, love, and the things that really matter. It's really a wonderful story."-Lee Woodruff, New York Times Bestselling author of In An Instant Perfectly Imperfect-A Life in Progress Those We Love Most
