Reviews

Emotions in the Ottoman Empire offers one of the first monograph-length studies of emotions in the early modern Ottoman world, opening up their conceptual frameworks for feeling and how emotions were encountered in social and political relationships. It is a must read for the global history of emotions.
*Dr Katie Barclay, Associate Professor, ARC Centre of Excellence in the History of Emotions, University of Adelaide, Australia*

Nil Tekgul’s well-written book is a harbinger and a seminal starting point for stimulating discussions … [providing] us with a well-researched, highly readable, and thought-provoking volume.
