Many of the images in this book are from the historical photograph collection at the Uinta County Museum. Barbara Allen Bogart, director of the museum since 2003, is a historian and folklorist with extensive experience researching and writing about the history of small communities in the American West.

Date: Summer 2009 The Museum's pictorial history of Evanston will
be published on August 3. The book features more than 200 historic
photos of Evanston and the surrounding area. While many of the
photographs come from the Museum's collection, others come from
local residents as well as other historical organizations,
including the University of Wyoming and the Wyoming State Archives.
Chapters in the book cover the railroad, ranching, coal mining, the
development of Evanston's downtown, the energy boom, and recent
historic preservation projects. The book is priced at $23
(including tax). The Museum Foundation is now taking pre-paid
orders for the book. For orders placed and paid for before July 10,
the price of the book with tax is $20. Sales of the book will
benefit the Uinta County Museum Foundation, a nonprofit
organization that supports the programs and activities of the
Museum. Enclosed with the newsletter is an order form. Have
