*Mark has won a literary award in 2009 for his short story Whirlwind at the beginning of this book. In addition, he has three previous non-fiction books published by Zeus Publications and Balboa Press in 2006, 2009 and 2011. He lives on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, Australia, with his wife, Lisa and his old Jack Russell, Kaylah. Having served in the Royal Australian Navy and as holder of the Returned From Active Service and Defence Medals, along with his service in the public sector, rehabilitation and services, mature age student, restaurant owner, single dad and salesman, Mark considered his background such that he could sit down a write a story. Consequently, he did with his first non-fiction tome, Inside Out: The Black Heart of the Motor Trade, followed by Surviving Chronic Cretinism. Then came his memoir, From Seven Hills to the Seven Seas - A Memoir of a Boy Adrift. This book is his fourth foray into the world of scribblers, with stories true and stories not so true, yet he states those tales that stretch the boundaries of reality still have elements of truth in all of them: all connected by way of a common yarn you could say, although all can be enjoyed separately. He also declares there is a connection rippling through 'all' of his writings; nevertheless, the books do stand on their own for those not wishing to indulge in his other works.
