This collection of essays, reviews, articles, and lectures by one of our great critics contains previously unpublished material that is difficult to find. Included are some early studies of T. S. Eliot and D. H. Lawrence, which can be considered along with mature essays on these same writers. In addition are discussions of George Eliot, Henry James, W. B. Yeats, and William Wordsworth.
