Jeanne McNamara was born in Australia of Scottish parents, and she grew up in sunny Queensland, graduating from the University of Queensland in Social Work. She wrote her first story when she was eleven years old, and wrote articles and short stories in Australia and in the U.S., after she and her family moved to Dallas, Texas. She wrote her first novel, "Caitlin's Country" in the 1990s, and the sequel, "Finding Fiona" a few years later. Her new novel, "Far From England," is the third novel in the trilogy. She also wrote a novel based on her father's experiences in two World Wars in Scotland and also alongside the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific.
