Brian Hayden is professor emeritus of archaeology
at Simon Fraser University. He is the author of The Power of
Feasts: From Prehistory to the Present, Shamans Sorcerers and
Saints: A Prehistory of Religion, and Archaeology: The Science of
Once and Future Things.
