Yvonne Tasker is Professor of Film Studies at the University of East Anglia, UK. Her books include Action and Adventure Cinema (Routledge, 2004) and Interrogating Postfeminism: Gender and the Politics of Popular Culture (Duke UP, 2007).

'... this type of guide is invaluable... this guide provides a stimulating insights into fifty directors working today. There are 12 new entried in this 2011 edition of the guide that marks it as a clear revision of the original version. As with the first edition, I would buy it to use in any classroon, but would also make sure that I had my own copy at home. Thoroughly recommended.'- POV
