Janie has taught school in Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, as well as South Carolina for 48 years. She has her Master's Degree in Education. and is certified to teach all grades and subjects for grades 5-12. Janie is listed in "Who's Who Among America's High School Teachers" for several years Also, she has won many plaques and awards for her work with children and teens in the area of couseling and education. She is a retired Children's Church Pastor of 25 years in several states as South Carolina. She served at her home church, Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Greenville, SC for eight years. (two terms of four years each) She is also a published poet having published a book entitled "No More Birthday Cakes For Me." Her book may be ordered via Amazon. Now, she has written a book called "Fire in the Hands of the Children" which was set in the beautiful city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Due to an accident with her right foot over year ago she now lives in an Assisted Living Home and is writing a book of poems about living in such a place and about how God protected her from a near death situation.
