Jouzas Lukša (1921–1951), also known by codename Daumantas or
Skirmantas, was one of the most prominent post-World War II
resistance leaders in Lithuania.
Laima Vince is a graduate of Columbia University, School of the
Arts MFA program in Creative Writing, and the editor and translator
of three anthologies of contemporary Lithuanian literature: The
Earth Remains (Columbia University Press), Lithuania in Her Own
Words (Tito Alba), and Raw Amber (Poetry Salzburg).
