Gr 3-6-Well-organized overviews of how celebrations are conducted in different parts of the world. Each book generally covers the region's main food crops; specific holidays and festivals, many of which are connected to the harvest; and special dishes. The most useful sections are the recipes, which are easy enough for young readers to make. Each page has one or two paragraphs of text and full-color photos that show people from each country cultivating, harvesting, selling, or preparing various foods for special holidays.
