Sandra Yuen MacKay is the author of My Schizophrenic Life: The Road to Recovery from Mental Illness and Chop Shtick. She has a Fine Arts Diploma from Langara College and an art history degree from the University of British Columbia. She received the Courage to Come Back Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for overcoming severe obstacles to become an artist, writer and speaker on mental health issues. She works and resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. Brooklyn writer James D. Young has published four other books: Time Passages, RERUN, Boulevard (and its near-future dystopia) and co-wrote the English language version of the late Jonathan Marsh's Japanese novel, Bounty Hunter. In the spring of 1968, the National Arts Club of Gramercy Park (NY) awarded him First Prize for best citywide college poetry published the year prior.
