About the Author

Leah McEwen has been the Chemistry Librarian at Cornell University since 1999. Her background is in biochemistry and library science and she is responsible for library resources and specialized services supporting the chemical sciences at Cornell. She has contributed to and served in advisory capacity for a number of information resources including the ACS Style Guide, the ACS
CPT Guidelines for Bachelor's Degree Programs, Cornell's VIVO, and CAS' SciFinder. She is an active member of the Chemical Information Division of the American Chemical Society, most recently as Secretary. She is also a member of the ACS HIST and CHED Divisions, and collaborates frequently with the ACS Ethics and Publications Committees.

Robert E. (Bob) Buntrock is President of Buntrock Associates. After being well mentored in both organic synthesis and chemical information, he spent 5 years in the lab in pesticide synthesis for Air Products and Chemicals and Amoco Oil. He then transferred to Amoco Corp. where he advanced to Research Associate in Research Information Services where he grew up with the online chemical information industry as a proactive user. In 1995, he and his wife Gloria formed Buntrock Associates providing
technical information services for a wide variety
of clients. In the last few years, Bob has concentrated on reviewing books for four publications, writing on chemical information topics, and mentoring high schools and college students on alternative careers in chemistry. He has three patents and more than 100 publications and presentations.
