The humans who inhabit Soldara regard the nearby elven nation of Alasiri with uneasy hostility, yet the two races have come together in the lands bordering the two nations. Moore's first novel portrays a young woman's struggle to make her way in a world that has trouble accepting someone neither human nor elven.
