Gordon E. Harvey is the L.M. McKneely Professor of Humanities and an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he has taught since 1999. In 1998, he taught on a visiting appointment at AuburnUniversity, where he also received his Ph.D. In 1992, he earned a B.S. in Education and, in 1994, a M.A. in History from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1989, he earned a B.S. in Marketing from AuburnUniversity. He published his first book in 2002, A Question of Justice: New South Governors and Education, 1968-1976, and is currently completing a second book, An Easy Man to Believe In: Reubin Askew and the Rise of Modern Florida. He is also co-editor of a collection of essays on southern history. He is the recipient of numerous teaching awards at ULM and at AuburnUniversity
