About the Author

Trevor Vanderputt was born in India and was educated by the Irish Christian Brothers. He learned his hockey oh the sub-continent and played First Division for Calcutta Rangers Club in the 50s. Served as a Bengal Senior Selector with Keshav Dutt and Balbir Kapoor. Emigrated to Australia in 1964 with his wife Jean and four sons. Though over the hill age-wise to play top grade, played with Glebe HC in Sydney and Cricketers Club in Perth. Wide experience in coaching Club and State sides in Australia. Was appointed Director of Coaching in the Hockey Association in Canberra.
