Dodie Smith's classic tale about 101 Dalmations and their fight for survival against the evil Cruella De Vil.
Dodie Smith was born in 1896 in Lancashire and she was one of the most successful female dramatists of her generation. Her first novel, I Capture the Castle, was written when she lived in America during the 1940's and marked her crossover debut from playwright to novelist. The novel became an immediate success and was produced as a play in 1954. She has written numerous other novels but is best-known today for The Hundred and One Dalmatians, a story for younger readers. The Hundred and One Dalmatians became the basis of two Disney Films. Martin Jarvis, OBE, is an English actor and voice performer. He has had a distinguished career in just about every aspect of the entertainment industry: film, television, theatre, radio and audio recording. He is also the author of two bestselling books: Acting Strangely, a hilarious autobiography, and Broadway, Jeeves?: The Diary of a Theatrical Adventure, a compelling account of his award-winning time on Broadway in 2001.
'… excitement and fun, inextricably mixed, and a wonderful reading
by Martin Jarvis.'

'Fun as the film was, it did not do justice to the cascade of wit
and jokes that flows from Dodie Smith's pen in the novel ... like
Peter Pan, this is a book that will be as much enjoyed by parents
as children.'
