I AM A MAN is a journal carrying as it’s front cover a representation of actual signs carried by 1,300 striking African American sanitation workers in Memphis in the 1968, created by an artist after viewing an actual sign in Charles Rangel's (A U.S member of state who is a leader in New York politics) Harlem office. At the back of the journal is a section where it tells you a bit more about the artist that created the sign on the front, why and how. A piece of history that can now be enjoyed and appreciated as a graphic art form.
