Chapter One: As I Am: A Mess in Need of Mercy
Mercy is the only thing that can meet the most desperate needs and begin to give purpose to pain.
Chapter Two: Unexpected: Do What You Need to Do
Being completely emptied of everything you thought you knew is what will prepare your heart to receive and be filled with the strength of the Lord for the task that lies ahead.
Chapter Three: Landscape of the Heart: Say Nothing at All
Not everything needs to be spoken and not all things need to be explained. Taking the time to see the damage the crisis has done overwhelms the heart, but it is essential to stop running and hiding, and face it.
Chapter Four: Where to Begin: The Heart’s Desire
The very One who requires our soul to be still is the only One who can direct our steps to move forward.
Chapter Five: The Valley of Danger: Standing Strong with Weak Emotions
Emotions cannot be trusted but the One who created us to be emotional can be trusted. We can sift through the emotions and gain wisdom as we walk through the darkness of the valley.
Chapter Six: Unchanging Truth: Harnessed by Faith
It is an absolute truth that the Lord will never compromise how he holds you. A freefall into his grace is completely safe because you know he grips you with sovereignty and goodness.
Chapter Seven: Exposed: Examined, Tried, and Proven
Being exposed is one of the most difficult aspects of your crisis. Seeking the Lord and realizing that he is the wise and kind judge is healing.
Chapter Eight: Trust: Obedience Leads to Clarity
Trusting God, who allowed the crisis, to restore your life in his time will lead your desperate heart to follow him with urgency, believing that his process has purpose.
Chapter Nine: Expectant Hope: Signs of Life
The outcome of suffering is priceless when you have insight into and purpose for the suffering. God’s hope is sure and steadfast. This kind of hope is a guarantee.
Chapter Ten: Digging Deep: The Well of Joy
Your crisis and my crisis is our opportunity for joy. The gaping hole that crisis creates is the perfect place for God to spring up a well that will bring forth a legacy of joy.
Chapter Eleven: Crisis to Credibility: A Contagious Faith
When your credibility is in Christ you will be that individual whose deep, abiding faith infects the souls of others.
