"Overall, this book provides a valuable, single first point of
reference for those seeking to assess and ensure animal welfare in
the own operations, or as a starting point in the development of a
welfare assurance process. Tertiary educators will find that the
text also serves as a valuable accompaniment to animal welfare
courses for animal science and veterinary students studying
production animals."--Andrew Fisher, University of Melbourne,
Australia
"The book is a very practical instruction of activity not only for
those studying problems of practical application of animal welfare,
but especially for those who are responsible for the preparation
and instruction of future professional specialists in this field,
to implement effective practical programs to improve animal
welfare. We can only hope that this sucessful work gets to the
hands of those in the field of today s multicultural
world."--Antonin Holub"
"This is an excellent book on applied animal welfare. The book is a
good value, and can be recommended for most animal and veterinary
science libraries."--Neville G. Gregory
"Drawing on the editor's extensive experience in teaching and
auditing, as well as contributions from international experts, this
book provides a guide to the practical evaluation and auditing of
welfare problems, emphasizing the importance of measuring
conditions that compromise welfare."
