George Irving Quimby (1913-2003) had a long and distinguished career as Professor of Anthropology and Curator of Ethnology at the Burke Museum at the University of Washington and as Curator of Archaeology and Ethnology at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.
"This slim book is buried treasure. . . . Mr. Quimby does what very few archaeologists can do. He makes artifacts vivid. And he makes the people who used them come alive." --Island Seas
