Dutch designer Petra Blaisse founded Inside Outside in Amsterdam in 1991 and first gained international acclaim for her innovative exhibition installations in the 1980s and 1990s. Recent works include the Seattle Central Library, the Hackney Empire Theater in London, and the winning design for the Giardini di Porta Nuova competition in Milan.
"So much care and effort was obviously put into the book by Blaisse
and others that it goes so far beyond other design monographs in
terms of what can be learned about the designer, her process and
the relationship between her pieces (textiles, landscapes,
exhibitions) and their larger context. . . . a crafted thing of
beauty in its own right."
