Promotional Information

There are several excellent works by other leaders in the field but none provides as extensive an overview, from basic concepts of assessment to advanced principles of intervention, as this. The authors' humanism makes their treatment of the complex array of factors determining the well-being of older adults readable and navigable. Readers will find that the combination of scientific evidence and clinical humanism makes this work a truly Integrated Textbook of Geriatric Mental Health. -- Gary J. Kennedy, M.D., Montefiore Medical Center We have come to expect superb publications from the writing team of Cohen and Eisdorfer. Their latest contribution doesn't disappoint. It is beautifully written, comprehensive, and logically organized. The authors have created a textbook that integrates state-of-the-science information with broad-based appeal-one that is useful to students and practitioners in a variety of disciplines. -- Kathleen Buckwalter, Ph.D., R.N., University of Iowa College of Nursing
