Mary M Hess, Pharm.D., FASHP, FCCM is Associate
Dean for Student Affairs, and Associate Professor of Pharmacy
Practice, Jefferson School of Pharmacy. Dr Hess graduated with a BS
in Pharmacy from the University of Missouri Kansas City, USA and a
Doctor of Pharmacy from the St Louis College of Pharmacy in 1987
and 1990 respectively. Dr Hess completed a Critical Care/Nutrition
residency, 1991 and a Critical Care Fellowship at the University of
Tennessee in 1993. Dr Hess has held academic positions throughout
her career, including roles as postgraduate training program
director and health systems leadership for clinical pharmacy
services.
Dr Hess has received Best Practice awards for innovative design of
academic courses and for clinical services design in the health
system. She has served as the Chair of the Commission on
Credentialing, as the critical care network facilitator in the
Section of Clinical Specialists & Scientists within ASHP and
several other committees within ASHP, American Colleges of Clinical
Pharmacy (ACCP) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
Dr Hess has served on the Board member for an Accredited Technician
training program and as part of the design team for the ASHP
Research Foundation Critical Care Traineeship.
