Nirode Mohanty taught at State University of New York-Buffalo, the University of California-Riverside, and California State University-Long Beach. He received the Excellence in Creativity Award from Rockwell International, was elected an IEEE Fellow, and serves as associate editor of the International Journal on Telecommunications and Networking. The author of six previous books, he received his Ph.D in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Mohanty's book, Jihadism: Past and Present, is a welcome
addition to an impressive body of literature on terrorism I discuss
in my course on Political Anthropology offered at the University of
California, Santa Cruz every year. His book is packed with
brilliant analysis, insightful historical perspectives, and a fresh
overview of Jihadi movements in South Asia, in Middle East's Muslim
nation-states, and in other regions of our world. I have not
seen such a thoughtful and thorough coverage of
sensitive aspects of Salafi and Stealth Jihadism in any other
study.

“A much needed rebuttal of the politically-correct self-delusion
regarding the global threat posed by militant Islam and its dogged
quest for world domination."
