About the Author

FRANCES ANN DAY teaches Latino children's literature at Sonoma State University and conducts workshops nationwide. She is the author of Multicultural Voices in Contemporary Literature (1994, 1999) and Lesbian and Gay Voices: An Annotated Bibliography and Guide to Literature for Children and Young Adults (2000). Both books won Skipping Stones Awards, which honor social justice and multicultural understanding. Lesbian and Gay Voices was also an ALA finalist for a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Book Award.
